While luck certainly does have a part to play in Blackjack, there is a lot of skill that goes into playing the game. How much skill or strategy you use depends on the time and effort you are willing to put into learning these skills. One such skill is card counting-not like by casinos but certainly not illegal.

Blackjack is played with 8 decks of 52 standard cards throughout this casino, unless otherwise indicated. The cards are dealt face up, one to each player and then one to the Dealer followed by a second card to each player. Aces count as 1 or 11, Court cards count as 10 and all other cards have their face value.

The cards 2 through 10 are face value. A 2 counts as 2, a 7 counts as 7, a 10 counts as 10. The face cards, jacks, queens, and kings, all count as 10. The aces count as either 1 or 11.
